This website has been developed as part of RIDE's commitment to assist carers, case managers, service providers and members of the community to access up to date information regarding respite opportunities available for people with a disability in the Eastern Metropolitan Region (EMR).
Respite gives the carers of people with disabilities an opportunity to take a break from their support role. Carers can enjoy a break, secure in the knowledge that their loved one is in a secure environment, enjoying a positive experience. This can be planned break or responding to an emergency. Your respite experience may be for a few hours, a few days or extended periods. Respite can mean many different things to each of us.
