Free Parent Career Information Sessions

Career Transition Support

There are two information workshops for parents of secondary school students with a mild intellectual disability from 15 years of age. The workshops are delivered in a supportive environment with other parents as well as local service providers who specialise in supporting individuals with a disability.

MATE Seminar

Swimming Victoria Presents  - MATE Seminar

The MATE seminar (Making Aquatics a Terrific Experience) provides participants with the information, skills and confidence to take a person with a medical condition and/or disability to the pool for recreation activities. The MATE seminar is not about swimming strokes. it is a guide to encouraging and facilitating physical activity in an aquatic environment for people who do not always have the opportunity to participate in aquatics.

Uniting Care Information Session for Carers

Are you caring for someone who is sick, aged or has a disability?
Would you like to know how to connect with services that offer help and support for carers?

This information session is for anyone who lives in the Eastern Region and provides unpaid care, whether short or long term.

The support and services offered by Uniting Care are not income/means tested. Target groups include carers of those who are / have:- Frail aged Disabilities, Dementia Challenging Behaviours, Palliative Care or Working carers.

The National Centre Against Bullying’s (NCAB) 5th biennial conference

The conference will explore the ways young people use social media for connecting, learning and creating, and how social media can be used to support young people with a disability.

Keynote speakers include Dr Ian Rivers PHD (UK), Dr Sonia Sharp (UK), Professor Donna Cross (Australia) and Dr Nina Funnell (Australia), who will present on the topics of social media, bullying and vulnerability.
