RIDE Disability Expo 2013 - 15-05-2013

NEED RESPITE IDEAS?

The RIDE Disability Expo is the biggest disability Expo in the Eastern Metropolitan Region.

The 2013 Expo promises to be informative, engaging and lots of fun. Over the coming weeks watch out for more RIDE Disability Expo news, posters and details on the All Ability Wheelchair Soccer Tournament.

Next steps for DisabilityCare Australia in Victoria - 17-05-2013

A crucial step towards the Victorian launch of DisabilityCare Australia, the national disability insurance scheme, has been taken, with the Commonwealth and Victorian Governments agreeing arrangements for how people with disability will access the scheme in the Barwon launch site.

New organisation to help the disabled - 17-05-2013

It is hoped a new group will create the blueprint for similar support organisations ahead of the rollout of the Hunter's National Disability Insurance Scheme pilot project.

The Hunter Disability Support Organisation is made up of people with a disability, their families, friends and carers, and will have its second meeting this afternoon.

The supporting decision making guide has been developed for use by disability supporters, to create an environment where people with a disability can make decisions to the extent that they are able.

The documents are available online via the Department of Human Services website.

 

Creating Accessible Journeys Workshop - 17-05-2013

Join Boroondara Council and your community to discuss your interest in advocating for accessible public transport in Borondara and across Victoria. The Boroondara community will have the opportunity to comment, enquire, and receive information around the many activities being undertaken to provide accessible public transport in Victoria and be invited to join the All Aboard Campaign.

The event will be held at Kew Court House, with simultaneous webinars to be held in Ashburton and Balwyn.
