EACH – EACH Respite for Carers

EACH Respite for Carers is an Australian Government initiative that provides a range of support service which:
• Enable carers and the people they care for to have a break from the regular care situation.
• Allow carers to have time for themselves whilst the person they care for is being supported by trained staff.
• Offer different options for people in different situations.
• Explore each individual carer's needs and tailors respite options to meet those needs.
• Assist parents and family members by providing information and referral supports.

Support is available to:
• parents and carers of a person with a disability or mental health issue
• priority to aging carers

Eligibility: Carers of a person who has an intellectual disability, mental illness or autism, living in the Eastern Metropolitan Region.
Program Hours: Variable over 7 days, depending on the needs of the family.

EACH – Shire of Yarra Ranges (SYR) Information and Referral Service

The SYR Disability Information & Referral Service provides a range of support services which:
• Assist families/carers by providing information, referral and assistance to access relevant services.
• Enable families/carers to establish links with service in their local area.
• Offer different options for people in different situations.
• Can include access to emergency respite funds, when all other funding options have been exhausted (requests assessed on an individual basis).
• Will provide a central point of contact for carers of people with a disability and service providers to obtain information on respite and carer support services and opportunities in the Shire of Yarra Ranges with particular focus in the outer east corridor.

Eligibility: Parents and carers of a person with a disability aged 6 - 64 years living in the Shire of Yarra Ranges who do not have a case manager.
Program Hours: Variable over 7 days, depending on the needs of the family.

Uniting Care Community Options (UCCO) Commonwealth Respite and Carelink Centre

Short term respite and planning services are available for the primary carers of people with a disability. Funding for some services is also available.

Short term respite and planning services are available for young people with a substantial caring role through the Young Carer program.

A variety of planned and short-term respite options are available for the carers of older people in addition to planning support.

Eligibility: Carers caring for someone with a disability and residing in the Eastern Metropolitan Region of Melbourne.

Yooralla – Breakaway Flexible Respite Program

The Breakaway Flexible Respite program aims to provide short term funding to carers of people with a disability to meet a specific respite request. The funding enables carers to develop respite options that meet both their own needs and the needs of a person for whom they care.

Eligibility: Primary carer of a person with a disability aged between 6 and 64 years. Living in the Eastern region of Melbourne.

Yooralla – Respite Service Coordination

Respite Service Coordination is a unique program designed to assist carers of a person with a disability aged between 6 and 64 years living in the Eastern Region. The program co-actively works with carers to navigate the respite service system.

Eligibility: Primary carer of a person with a disability aged between 6 and 64 years, living in the Eastern region of Melbourne and does not have active case management.

Yooralla – Respite Information and Development in the East

Provides information about respite options for people with a disability. RIDE supports the development and enhancement of respite services in the Eastern Metropolitan Region.

Eligibility: People with a disability living with a primary carer in the Eastern Region.
